Usage method of gourd melon harvester
2025-12-17
The operation method of the gourd melon harvester usually includes pre-start preparation, operation steps, and post-operation maintenance. The following explains the operation process based on common machine types.

Pre-start preparation

Check power supply and connections: Ensure the machine is connected to a reliable power source, inspect the power cord for normal operation, and confirm sufficient fuel and hydraulic oil levels for self-propelled models.

Clean the work platform: Remove moisture and dirt from the melon surface, ensure stable placement on the work platform to prevent rolling or sliding.

Adjust parameters: Set rotation speed, clamping force, cutting angle, etc., via the control panel according to melon size and type. For large harvesters, also check pickup width and cleaning device settings.

Operation steps

Start the machine: Turn on the power switch or start the engine, let the machine run idle briefly to confirm normal operation of all components.

Feed melons: Gently insert melons into the feeding inlet. Self-propelled models automatically pick up melons via picking teeth or rubber paddles. Maintain uniform forward speed during operation to avoid overloading.

Monitor operation: Closely observe seed separation and cleaning during cutting, threshing, and cleaning processes, adjusting parameters promptly for optimal efficiency. Some models feature backup cameras or grain bin monitoring to assist operation.

Unload seeds: After completion, stop the machine and unload seeds via hydraulic discharge or side-tipping grain tank to prevent spillage losses.

Post-operation maintenance

Clean the machine: Promptly remove residual rinds, stems, and stones to prevent clogging or component corrosion.

Inspect and maintain: Check wear conditions of blades, chains, wheels and other key components, regularly lubricate and tighten screws.

Storage precautions: For long-term storage, clean the machine body, cover with dust-proof cloth, and store in dry, ventilated area.

Always follow safety regulations during use, such as wearing protective gear and avoiding high-speed operation on slippery terrain. Different models (self-propelled or mounted) may have specific operational differences—refer to the manual for details.
